The historic center of Fermo in recent years has been the subject of lot of projects aimed to improve the mobility of citizens and tourists; now the need is to connect Piazza del Popolo and the overlying Piazzale del Gyrfalcon.

The considerable difference in height of about 20 meters to get to the Duomo, symbol of the city, represents a big obstacle for all those people who have mobility problems; here was born the architectural idea of ​​creating a work that breaks down this barrier, aiming at a revitalization of tourism, economic and historical-cultural of the city of Fermo.

The project consists in the extension of one of the galleries existing along via Mazzini, up to the installation of a double cabin of underground elevators, which then come out to the square Gyrfalcon.

The more volume on the square constituted by the extra-run of the elevators, will be made of glass and corten steel, a solution already widely used for similar realizations in historical centers.

The space was also designed for the interior gallery by setting up the walls with works of art, phrases of effect, images of the historical emergencies of Fermo, shops advertising and any exhibitions of young artists or photographic exhibitions, that will arrive to the Duomo.

All will be surrounded by one stage lighting that will further enhance the intervention.
